Sharon Leon carpets was originally set up in 1963 on Bridge Street, Inverness, by James Sheerin.
The main products were carpet squares and stair runners.
We were one of the first flooring businesses to introduce broadloom carpeting, allowing carpets to be fitted wall-to-wall without any seams.
This expansion allowed James to expand into the commercial and industrial markets, with his wife, Heather Sheerin, joining the business to take charge of the office.
They began to outgrown the Castle street premises and demand for onsite parking grew, and James and Heather needed to have their warehouse on the same site as the shop.
