Probably the largest growth area in the flooring trade has been LVT (luxury vinyl tiles) something the carpet shop has embraced. There is a fantastic choice of wood and tile designs with the option to personalise your home with border work or designs set into the floor. When measuring a room simply ensure you measure the longest point and the widest point (don't forget to go into the doorway).
Draw a birds-eye view of the Landing and hallway (as shown below).
Remember to make a note of were the stairs are and which way is down with a arrow.
In these examples note I have measured over the top stair.
I have shown 3 different samples of the most common landings but use the same principle to any shape.
This is only a guide for budgeting purposes we always recommend using our own experienced staff to measure your home.

Vacuum regularly this stops the grit and dust getting trapped in the carpet fibres which creates premature wear.
Use the thin hose attachment on the vacuum around the skirting boards this is a big dust trap and a lot of modern homes get a discoloured carpet around the skirting board from builders dust drawing up through the gaps in the skirting which comes from behind the dry lined walls.
This is only a personal view.
Modern hand held vacuum cleaners although useful do not have as strong a suction compared to upright vacuum cleaners.
