The business was established by my father in 1962, having previously worked as an agent for Cyril Lord Carpets (no relation), widely regarded as the first person to bring fitted carpets to the general public. For the last 50 years we have traded in Bridgwater and the surrounding villages. The original incarnation of the business was a small shop on Penel Orlieu until a fire destroyed the premises during the miners' strike of 1972.
The business then moved to a Grade 2 listed building in Chilton Street, first built as a flour mill by Spiller's of Bridgwater but subsequently used for other activities as diverse as cider making and basket manufacture. In 2008 we relocated to a trade unit at East Quay. We are a family business, run by Stephanie and Carleton Lord since 1981, who are still very much involved with the day to day operation of the business.
We carry a large number of rolls of carpet and vinyls in stock along with hundreds of remnants. We are affiliated to the Office of Fair Trading and abide by their consumer code of practice.

We don't just stock carpets in our Bridgwater warehouse, we supply all of the main flooring types including wood, laminates, rubber, luxury vinyl tiles, vinyl, linoleum, natural floorings (sisal, coir, seagrass, jute) and of course carpet.
In our Bridgwater store we have a large display of Karndean flooring with samples and brouchures.
We also have a large Quickstep Laminate display with large examples, samples and brochures for help with choosing the right style for your home.
We have a very extensive range of rugs ranging from small inexpensive machine-made styles, right through to oversize fine quality hand-knotted Persian, Turkish and Afghan carpets.
